Festival of Sins: Immorality will soon give way to Lust

With two great Christmas shows by Viktoria Modesta and Am-Statik (both photographed here by MarcusT), Festival of Sins ended 2009 on a high. Tony Mitchell reports on December’s Immorality and anticipates an equally impressive night of Lust on February 13

December’s Festival of Sins: Immorality night provided singer Viktoria Modesta with her first audience of fetishists, friends and, perhaps most critical of all, fetishist friends. But if she was nervous about being judged by her pals and peers, it didn’t show at all in her performance, which was confident, professional, and considerably more impressive than your typical musical performer from the pervy world.... If Ms Modesta impressed with her musical prowess, then designer Amy Day showed equal flair in the latex fashion department. Launching her debut ready-to-wear collection, called Hemera, this Bath-based fashion graduate had assembled a hot troupe of models who were not the usual London faces but looked as if they’d been born to wear her Am-Statik creations....

Festival of Sins: Immorality looks like the best option

Surely London’s best value party of the coming weekend, Festival of Sins’ Immorality-themed event on Saturday includes music by Viktoria Modesta, fashion by Am Statik Latex, cabaret from Birdseatbaby, a Sammm Agnew crucifixion installation and much more…

Festival of Sins, June 2009: Cake, geeks and gluttony

At the last Festival of Sins before May LR and David De Vynél become officially Mr and Mrs, gluttony, aka greed, was the sin of choice. It provided an excuse for some cake-crazed performances, while in the audience, geekdom ruled, reports Tony Mitchell

Festival of Sins club

...But few club nights are quite like Festival of Sins: a surreal mix of fetish and rock'n'roll (ultimately preferable to the exclusivity of many fetish clubs, even if it takes a bit of getting used to) offering a heady blend of fashion shows, burlesque, body art, bands and bizarre boutique shopping in a decadent atmosphere.
